Capsule Geology

The Blake showing is located 8 kilometres southwest of Bluff Lake and 17 kilometres northwest of Chilko Lake. The Math showing (092N 021) is about 1.3 kilometres to the north-northeast.

Middle to Upper Triassic intermediate to mafic volcanics and sediments of the Cadwallader Group are intruded by quartz dioritic intrusions of the Late Triassic Cadwallader plutonic suite. The area lies between two major northwest-striking faults, the Yalakom and Tchaikazan faults, along the northeastern margin of the Coast Plutonic Complex.

In 2019, Tchaikazan Resources prospected their Blake Ext claim in the area southwest of the Math showing and found a similar mineralized outcrop as at the Math. The new occurrence zone was subsequently called the Blake showing where Sample 36 graded 0.186 per cent copper and 2.44 grams per tonne silver. (Assessment Report 38580). The outcrop sample was collected from medium green, massive fine-grained augite(?) crystal/ash tuff. Local sub-millimetre amygdules were noted as were traces of fine-grained disseminated pyrite and chalcopyrite.

WORK HISTORY

In 2019, rock geochemical and geological mapping was completed on the BLUFF, SOUTH BUTLER, BUTTS2, BLAKE S and BLAKE EXT claims by Tchaikazan Resources Inc. A total of 25 rocks were sampled of which 21 were sent for assay. Geologic mapping was carried out on 18 locations as the samples were collected.

Refer to Bu (092N 030) for related geological and work history information. Also refer to Math (092N 021) for pertinent information.
